Combining Marketing With Education

I remember back when I was near the end of college I took a class designed to help us get a job immediately when we graduated. The job dealt with improving resumes, with doing mock interviews, as well as letting us get a feel for the marketplace.

Near the end of the class for about four weeks in a row the main thing we did was listen to guest speakers. They ranged across a whole slew of different industries and different types of jobs. Now, for my personally, the majority of these people were not in an industry I had interest in.

But I still remember most of them, along with the companies they represented. I remember what they said about their company, which included how well they treated their employees along with a variety of other benefits for working there. One of the people, just to give an example, worked at a car rental place. Now the job they were talking about was more centered on office work, and various other details about the administrative side of the company.

I had no interest in working at a rental car place, but once the meeting was over all of the people always handed out their business card to everyone. Well, just a year later I needed to rent a car, and where do you think I went to rent one?

This is the results when you find interesting ways to combine marketing your business with some form of education. Everyone is going to print business cards anyways, so why not take them with you and take advantage of the situation?

There are a number of different places you can go to give speeches about your industry. This is not just about schools, but about various organizations that support people talking about their job, or something related to their industry.

Not only do you get a great chance to hand out your business card, but you can also show yourself to be an expert in your field. You are creating a strong image for your company by doing this. You might even start making custom business cards for the different places you go.

Each time you know you are going to be speaking somewhere you can print business cards with different images that relate both to your business and the topic at hand, helping people remember who you are and where they saw you.

There are even schools where you might be able to teach various business classes, or become a regular speaker about different finer details of business. It never hurts to check around and see what opportunities exist. Given the benefits you can gain from this approach, you might as well take the time to see what is out there.
