Do You Monitor Results From Different Providers?

When it comes to contextual advertising, there are several services out there who offer services in this area. For example, In-Text Advertising is currently being used by tens of thousands of people to monetize their websites in all kinds of different categories.

But it is common practice to try more than one provider when you first start exploring this field. That’s understandable – after all you want to make sure that you can earn the most money from the contextual advertising choices that you make.

The real question, however, is this - if you have decided to try more than one provider, are you keeping an eye on the results you are getting?

You should be doing this regardless of whether you are using this advertising model on different sites or maybe even on the same one. Depending on the focus of the website you have, and how many advertisers each network offers in that field, the results may vary a lot.

Of course it isn’t advisable to make snap decisions before each contextual advertising block have had a chance to prove themselves. For the best and most accurate results you should compare data over the course of a few months. At the very least, you should wait until you have several weeks over which to collect data. This allows for quiet periods and those freak days when you get a great response to your contextual ads, and days when hardly anyone clicks on them at all.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember though is that you should never go on what other people say. Different websites have different audiences and needs, and what works for one person might not get the same results for someone else.

There is no doubt that this type of advertising does get better results than standard ‘blanket’ advertising does. That’s why you should always start off by using the best providers in the business and develop a strategy from there. Once you know what works for you, you can roll it out to as many websites as you have active.
