Comodo Offers Monitoring Service

September 13th, 2006

Internet security company Comodo (comodogroup.com) announced on Tuesday it had launched its Web site continuity monitoring service, SiteMon. The service automatically checks corporate, e-commerce and enterprise Web sites every 10 minutes to ensure they are up and running and viewable to the public.

The free service sends an http request to a chosen URL every 10 minutes and monitors the Web page for the presence of three keywords. If these keywords are not found, possibly due to the Web site being down or unresponsive, or the keywords being removed by accident or sabotage, the service alerts the account holder immediately of the problem via email.

“SiteMon provides virtually immediate feedback regarding the accessibility and visibility of a merchant’s Web site,” says Melih Abdulhayoglu, president and CEO of Comodo. “This information is critical as it mitigates the risk of revenue loss resulting from a Web site being down. We are confident that e-merchants of all classes will find immediate value in this free service.”

Comodo says it offers solutions that enable businesses to create online trust through proprietary technologies that help e-businesses convert more customers, retain more customers and increase lifetime value. (Read more ...)
